The conference will focus simultaneously on the development potential facing the Arctic region and the environmental challenges it presents. As such, it will be a prime venue for stakeholders with interest in circumpolar issues. The themes of the socioeconomic programme have attracted speakers from Russia, the European Union, the United States, Canada and Norway, including politicians, academics and NGO representatives. Over 500 participants are expected for the six-day event.
