To succeed in this exciting new role, you will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and will be able to demonstrate a good network in relevant research and policy arenas, as well as substantial project management and project team leadership experience. We are looking for someone who will be able to generate external income and submit successful proposals for research and consulting project opportunities. A strong interest in knowledge exchange is also important.
As a skilled negotiator and influencer, you will represent the Centre to both internal and external stakeholders, as well as supervising staff, postgraduate students and students undertaking MSc dissertations.
The post will commence in early 2010 for a three year duration. Salary: £38 - £42k per year.

The Centre for Mountain Studies is based in Perth, at Perth College UHI, an academic partner of the UHI Millennium Institute, the future University of the Highlands and Islands. We are looking for a Deputy Director, who will play a key role in the Centre, working on all aspects of project development and implementation, and leading the online MSc in Managing Sustainable Mountain Development.
