The new site is also focussed on connecting youth and developing an interactive community, in which users are able to communicate through forums, share photos and videos, and become acquainted through individually maintained profiles.
The site is also concentrated on connecting youth with IISD's Circumpolar Young Leaders Program, an internship program for young Canadian northerners who gain work experience at a number of organizations across the Arctic states.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to check out the improved site, and asked to join the online community.

Ookpik.org, a growing website devoted to promoting information and opportunities related to the Circumpolar Arctic region for youth, has a new design and plenty of new features. The site is maintained by the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations for northern youth to obtain information related to educational and career opportunities in and across the circumpolar world.
