Her duties consist of daily communication tasks and developing a social media plan for UArctic, working together with Riitta Aikio, Outi Snellman, Scott Forrest and others within the University of the Arctic.
Emmi is a MA degree student at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) majoring in organizational communication and public relations. Her minors consist of studies in management and leadership and educational studies. She is currently finishing her Master’s Thesis on social marketing as a case study of public, business and civic organizations’ campaigns in Finland.
In the past, she has worked as a communications intern at Metso Paper in Jyväskylä where she gained experience of corporate communications. In 2009 she was an intern at the communications and marketing of the Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes Ltd which gave her valuable experience in communications and working for co-operation between companies and the public sector.
Grown up in south-western Finland, a small town called Paimio, and studied in Jyväskylä in Central Finland, Emmi is just beginning to explore the north and the Arctic region. She is determined to take an advantage of her fresh perspective and to benefit the UArctic and its communications.
In general Emmi is interested in international cooperation and social issues relating to welfare and education as well as new cross-cultural challenges especially within the UArctic network. She hopes to give her best know-how of organizational communications and perspectives on social media to developing and planning the communications at the UArctic.
