The visit included a meeting with Rector Mauri Ylä-Kotola and UArctic Vice-President Administration Outi Snellman where the University of the Arctic and northern cooperation in higher education were discussed at length. Leaders of Canada's northern territories are keenly interested in Lapland's experience in developing a university in the North and its work with other northern institutions through the University of the Arctic.
