UNEP mentioned in the Arctic Summit Leaders Summit Declaration

The Arctic Leaders Summit took place in Moscow on 14-15 April 2010. The leaders, representatives of the Permanent Participants of the Arctic Council, released a declaration at the end of the summit with a variety of recommendations. One such recommendation involves the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) which asked to include representation by Arctic Indigenous Peoples in UNEP's Governing Council. GRID-Arendal is a collabortaive centre of UNEP, and founding member of the UArctic. It also hosts their Polar Programme.
