The Workshop, which will be capped at 30 participants, includes
breakfast and lunch as well as program activities. Travel fellowships
and stipends for lodging will not be available.
This workshop will provide a great opportunity for young researchers
working in the polar regions and the cryosphere to meet new colleagues
and mentors, and develop skills not often taught during graduate
education programs. Topics of focus include, but are not limited to:
- Developing key messages about research projects;
- Communicating research to various audiences (scientists in other
disciplines, politicians, school children, media, the general
public, etc.); and
- Effective expressions and outreach methods in proposal writing.
Applications can be completed at: http://apecs.is/agu2010.
The deadline to apply is Tuesday, 15 September 2010. Applicants will be
notified of their selection by early October, and are expected to pay a
$25 registration fee after acceptance.
