The interdisciplinary seminar “Cold Regions” will be held on October,10- 18, 2011 and includes lectures on Northern Studies, Regional Studies, History, Higher Education Issues, Tourism and Circumpolar Region Environment. Lectures will be held in English with consecutive interpretation in Russian.
Under the Northern Studies Department program, “The Student and the World” it is planned to hold the meeting of Prof. Pearson and students of NEFU at the Hostel №66. The NEFU Library of Science, the Central Library named after Belinsky and the Center of Childhood and Youth will hold the exhibition of books about the USA and Northern America on October, 10.
At the end of the Seminar participants will be presented with ceremonial certificates.

On October 10, 2011, the grand opening of the interdisciplinary seminar “Cold Regions” will take place at the Board of Academics' convention hall, North- Eastern Federal University. Sylvia Reed Curran, Consul General of the USA in Vladivostok, Rodger William Pearson, Professor Emeritus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Seminar Speaker, and Mikhail Prisiazhny, Pro-Rector for Science and Math, NEFU, will take part at the event.
