He notes that the priority under his chairmanship is to conduct an environmental assessment and to create and maintain high quality graduate studies. New Dean of Graduate Studies appointed

The University of the Arctic has appointed Richard D. Boone, Professor of Ecosystem Ecology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks as the its new dean and lead of UArctic's Graduate Studies strategic area. Richard takes over the role of leading the Graduate Studies area from Pierre-Andre Forest (University of Lapland) and Larry Duffy (University of Alaska Fairbanks).
