This week's webinar is entitled "Where's the REB GPS? Navigating the
Research Ethics Review System for Research Involving Aboriginal Peoples"
and will be presented by Julie Bull of the University of New Brunswick
and NunatuKavut Community Council. Current changes to the governance of
research involving Aboriginal peoples has left some researchers confused
and unsure how to proceed in the right way when working with Aboriginal
communities. This webinar will provide an overview of the complexities
of research ethics for research involving aboriginal peoples within the
current Canadian structure and offer suggestions of how to navigate the
system for students and junior researchers. This webinar will give a
summary of current practices and provide recommendations about how to
meaningfully engage communities in research.
