The group led by Nikolay Dyachkovsky, Dean of Nursing School of Medical Institute of NEFU, has a meeting with Greg Poelzer, Director of the International Centre for Northern Governance and Development (ICNGD) and Dr. Lois Berry, Associate Dean of College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan. They had discussed signing of Memorandum of Understanding between two HEIs which will led to development of various mobility programs for students and faculty, and
cooperative activities. Under this Memorandum the parties have agreed to sign the Agreement on Cooperation in health in the North.
The universities are currently developing the education program for Northern Health Summer Institute for the nurses which will begin working in 2013 at the North-Eastern Federal University in cooperation with College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan. The Summer Institute is aimed at sharing experience and knowledge in the areas of Northern (Arctic) medicine and health protection, development of health care services for indigenous peoples and so on. This joint venture is considered to begin a lifelong partnership between NEFU and University of Saskatchewan.

The delegation from North-Eastern Federal University (Yakutsk, Siberia) has visited University of Saskatchewan, March 15-22, to discuss some questions concerning collaboration in some areas including health in the Arctic.
