The EMACIM curriculum will increase the competitiveness and employability of all the graduates and promote the entrepreneurial spirit among the arts and culture graduates as the single oriented education is no longer meeting the demands of the changing world and the targets of the EU as the knowledge based society.
The EMACIM programme at the University of Lapland has two major subjects: tourism research and audiovisual media culture. The programme consists of major subject studies at the home university and a study module of minor subject studies (30 ECTS) in one of the partner universities. The students majoring in tourism research will spend a semester in an art university completing the 30 ECTS study module in arts. The students majoring in audiovisual media culture will spend a semester in a business university completing the 30 ECTS study module in business.
