Our mission is to facilitate conference attendance and experience for students who might otherwise find themselves unable to attend academic conferences in person. It is hoped that by offering a conference in a virtual setting, students will be able to circumvent potential restrictions (ie. time, money, distance)—thereby allowing for an opportunity to gain valuable experience that will become an asset in their future endeavours.
To allow for students from a variety of disciplines to participate in the NSVC, the theme of the conference is very much open. We invite students to submit abstracts from any field of study with a connection to the multidisciplinary field of northern studies (eg. music, history, archaeology, literature, drama, folklore, etc.).
