The Field School (held June 1-30) is regarded as one of the first stages of practical implementation of NETESDA, which will give a unique opportunity for 11 Canadian students to learn a lot about ways of sustainable development in Komi, peculiarities of the region, life and challenges of local communities through the prism of interdisciplinary approach.
The group of students will visit Moscow, Syktyvkar and numerous villages nearby, will stay in the village of Kuratovo, and live for a while in the Izhma region, go to the circumpolar town of Vorkuta and end up in real Russian tundra, meet reindeer herders and explore the astonishing lifestyle and beauty of the wild land.
