Sami University College Makes Presentation to NAC

This week Education Programs, Nunavut Arctic College, hosted Laila Nutti, Assistant Professor of Education at Sami University College, Norway.
During her stay, Laila, presented a lecture to faculty and students at Nunatta Campus, Iqaluit, and engaged in many activities. She visited: the Nunavut Teacher Education Program; Fine Arts Program; Fur Program; Day care facilities; and Nakasuk School.
She made a special visit to the office of Dr. Michael Shouldice, President, Nunavut Arctic College. There, she presented him with a piece of art to commemorate the special relationship between Sami University College and Nunavut Arctic College. It was inscribed with the words: In the Spirit of Good Collaboration Within the Verdde. The term “Verdde’ is similar in meaning to our Inuit Qaujimajatuqnagit Principle of “Piliriqatiginniq”....working together for a common cause.
