IS exchange students in Canada

Six students from the University of Akureyri (Iceland) are this semester, attending the Marine Institute in St. John‘s Newfoundland on an exchange. The boys are all on their third year in fisheries B.Sc. Program but their studies in Newfoundland will be accredited in Iceland.
They find the Marine Institute very welcoming and find the lectures great. Coming from a University of only one thousand students to a University with nineteen thousand students they are surprised how the lectures are much more personalized than they had expected.
“Everything is great here, the school is fantastic and they have already taken us on 2 field trips, visiting a ground fish plant and a shrimp plant and next week we’ll visit a shrimp freezing trawler, I’m sure we can all learn some new things here” says Björn Ingason, one of the six boys.
