School includes lectures and workshops given by Russian, American and Norwegian experts in the field of Arctic policy and international relations. A role-play simulating the work of the Arctic Council will take three days and will include three stages: Working Groups Sessions; Senior Arctic Officials Session and the Ministerial Meeting. It is designed so to give a chance to the students to try different roles during the work of the Arctic Council, to give a possibility to learn more about various problems of the Arctic region and to express their own understanding of the situation. Winter school participants will be given 5 ECTS after completion.

Proactive and creative master and PhD students from Russia, USA, Canada, Norway and the UK will meet in Arkhangelsk February 25-28 with aim to increase their knowledge on the Arctic issues, meet like-minded participants from the other countries and develop their leadership skills. The overall idea of the MAC is to promote scientific Arctic research and strengthen international scientific and educational cooperation between UArctic universities.
