It's only a few days until UArctic Congress 2018, where over 600 participants from nearly 30 countries are gathering together to discuss topical Arctic issues and network with colleagues. The Congress will take place in Oulu and Helsinki, Finland on September 3-7, 2018.


Post-doctoral researcher Melina Kourantidou from University of Southern Denmark participated in the 4th Korea Arctic Academy (KAA) in July 2018. In her article on the Mereconomics she reflects on South Korea´s interests and role in the Arctic.

Living in the Landscape: Environmental Humanities, Arts and Education for Sustainability in the North (LiLa) summer school was organized under the Thematic Network on Sustainable Arts and Design in May 2018. The summer school took place in the Komi villages of Kozlovka, Onezhia and Otla located along the Vym river.
