The Department of Physics and Technology announces two vacant PhD Candidate positions in the area of Arctic Remote Sensing. The research themes are: “Multi-Sensor, Multi-Scale Integrated Remote Sensing for Arctic Sea Ice monitoring” and “Remote Sensing of Extreme Ocean Events (Polar Lows)”. Application deadline is September 10.

It's only a few days until UArctic Congress 2018, where over 600 participants from nearly 30 countries are gathering together to discuss topical Arctic issues and network with colleagues. The Congress will take place in Oulu and Helsinki, Finland on September 3-7, 2018.

Living in the Landscape: Environmental Humanities, Arts and Education for Sustainability in the North (LiLa) summer school was organized under the Thematic Network on Sustainable Arts and Design in May 2018.
