Lars Kullerud, the President of UArctic and Keith Larson, the director of the Arctic Centre of Umeå University signed the agreement as part of the closing session of the UArctic Assembly meeting on 26 May 2023 in Quebec City.

Approximately 120 participants from UArctic's member institutions attended the UArctic Assembly 2023 hosted by Université Laval in Québec City from 22-26 May 2023. The participants came from 15 different countries both in the Circumpolar North and from outside of the region.

The UArctic Entrepreneurship Fund is a new initiative that is open to any individual with an incubator-stage product or service that aims to benefit the Arctic environment or Arctic communities and has a positive, demonstrable impact on the Arctic.
