Alexander Tøsdal Tveit, Lisa Y. Stein, and Fang Qian became the winners of the 2024 Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Award with their project on methane capture with Arctic bacteria. The 100,000-euro award was announced on October 18 at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Iceland. 

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) have recently announced that their 2030 joint Polar Conference will be hosted in Incheon, Republic of Korea.
