Funded through the UArctic Norwegian Funding for Networking Activities, delegates including those from the sister UNITWIN organisation of the same name travelled from across the globe including Australia, Mongolia, Canada, Alaska, Greenland and from across Europe.
The three-day conference was a shared effort with the Finnish Network for Teacher Educators’ Professional Development and the EU Erasmus+ funded Plants for Literacy project. Across the circumpolar north, education stands as a cornerstone, shaping the future of its communities amidst unique challenges and opportunities. The EAF conference allowed the network to welcome educators, researchers, and community leaders from across the circumpolar North, to this international event allowing members not only to network in-person but also to illuminate the path toward a more inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive education. This gathering was not merely a conference; it was a collaborative endeavour, uniting passionate individuals dedicated to nurturing educational landscapes.
The conference featured a dynamic range of session formats, including keynotes and panel discussions with interactive add-ons, workshops, paper presentations, poster sessions, focusing on the themes of sustainable teacher education and best practices in Arctic education including plant literacy.
