HC003 – Arctic Maritime Safety, Climate Impacts, and Human–Environment Interactions is now accepting abstract submissions for the upcoming Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM) 2026, to be held 22–27 February 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.
As Arctic sea ice rapidly retreats and ocean conditions evolve, maritime activities in the region are increasing, leading to complex environmental, operational, and societal challenges. This interdisciplinary session aims to explore the impacts of Arctic climate change on oceanic conditions, navigational safety, and human interactions.
We invite contributions addressing climate-ocean interactions, navigation hazards, infrastructure resilience, operational risk, Indigenous perspectives, and governance. We particularly encourage participation from early career researchers and those working in cross-disciplinary or community-engaged contexts.
Abstract submission is now open and will close on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.
