Tytti Bräysy is a graphic designer and jewelry maker whose work draws on traditional Sámi techniques and designs to create largely nature-inspired pieces. Following a north2north exchange to Nunavut Arctic College from her home institution the Sámi Education Institute, her work is additionally inspired by Iqaluit.
"It was the visits from Canadian students that gave me the idea [to go on exchange]," she says.
This exchange has had a lasting impact on her life, as she has now been making a living doing what she loves through her successful Paarma Design shop for several years.
"I stayed in the North, and I’m happy here. UArctic gave me the confidence I needed. Without the support to travel to Nunavut, none of this would have happened," Bräysy tells in the interview.
